BMA Members Establish Sister City Relationship

It is always a pleasure for our country’s municipal leaders to gather among each other to discuss ideas and shared challenges as they all work to manage their towns and cities to the best of their abilities.

 At our most recent Belize Mayors’ Association meeting, San Pedro, Belize City, Benque Viejo Del Carmen, San Ignacio/Santa Elena and Punta Gorda all signed a Memorandum of Understanding establishing a sister city relationship with the City of Belmopan and Mayor Sharon Palacio. Through this agreement, the City of Belmopan commits to collaborating with these municipalities in identified areas such as information technology management systems, E-governance, transparency, good governance, infrastructural development, support of those with diverse abilities and other areas of mutual benefit. With this, we plan to forge forward in business and friendship as we work towards the betterment
