Belize at 40 Patriotic Mural Project

As September comes to an end, we want to express what a joy it was for all Mayors and their municipalities to participate in this year’s Belize@40 Patriotic Mural Project! We were able to work with amazing local artists from all over the country to honor Belize’s 40th year of independence with a project that is sure to last for many years to come.

This initiative reminded everyone of the importance and power of art as we saw the depiction of Belize’s history, ethnic diversity, national heroes, iconic musicians, traditional foods, key resources, and much more.  

We extend our sincerest gratitude to our contributors such as the National Celebrations Commission (NCC), the National Institute of Culture and History (NICH), the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Technology, the Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) in Belize and our artists for making this initiative possible in all 9 municipalities!
