A son of the soil, 36-year-old Mayor Gualberto “Wally” Nunez was born and raised on the island of San Pedro Town, Ambergris Caye. He is the youngest mayor in San Pedro history. As an islander, Mayor Wally grew up like everyone else enjoying school days and then summers on the beach. Fishing and family businesses were second nature to him with his grandfathers as his mentors. He holds an Associate Degree in Biology and has been a Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) for the past 17 years. As a former town councillor in 2012 and current mayor, his community outreach speaks for itself. His involvement in the San Pedro community and its countless service organizations add to the respect he is given as a fellow islander and member of the town council.  He remains committed to his people as both Mayor and Captain Wally Nunez!
